*135 PTFE SOLID BACKUP RING FDA

The TST135SO is an AS568-135 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring with an inside diameter of 1.925 in (48.9 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.131 in (54.13 mm). This back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

As a material, PTFE (Teflon) is known for one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid and non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics. The compound resists oxidizing media, steam, and strong acids and bases. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It is not the right choice where elemental fluorine at temperature or molten alkali metals are present.
