Part number TST144 is an AS568-144 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 2.487 in (63.17 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.693 in (68.4 mm). A back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified here for excellent dielectric properties and non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics. This material stands up to strong acids and bases, nearly all industrial chemicals, and oxidizing media. Rated temperature range runs from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C) in continuous service.
