146 PTFE SOLID BACKUP RING FDA

The TST146SO is an AS568-146 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 2.612 in (66.34 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.818 in (71.58 mm). This back-up ring bridges the extrusion gap so the primary seal holds its shape under load.

The material holds up against solvents, strong acids and bases, and steam. PTFE (Teflon) delivers excellent dielectric properties and near-universal chemical inertness. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C). It is not the right choice where elemental fluorine at temperature or molten alkali metals are present.

It sees regular use in aggressive-media pipelines, semiconductor fabrication, and food and beverage.
