158 PTFE SOLID BACKUP RING FDA

TST158SO is an AS568-158 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 4.737 in (120.32 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.943 in (125.55 mm). In service, this back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified here for one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid and very wide continuous service temperature range. The compound resists solvents, oxidizing media, and steam. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C).
