The TST260 is an AS568-260 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring measuring an inside diameter of 6.484 in (164.69 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.762 in (171.75 mm). This back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

PTFE (Teflon) is widely chosen for a very wide continuous service temperature range and one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid. This material stands up to nearly all industrial chemicals, solvents, and oxidizing media. Rated temperature range runs from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C) in continuous service. Verify compatibility before use with service requiring elastic recovery or molten alkali metals.

It sees regular use in aggressive-media pipelines, semiconductor fabrication, and pharmaceutical and biotech.
