This back-up ring is supplied in AS568-267 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D built to an inside diameter of 8.234 in (209.14 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 8.512 in (216.2 mm), catalogued under part number TST267. It bridges the extrusion gap so the primary seal holds its shape under load.

The compound resists nearly all industrial chemicals, oxidizing media, and steam. PTFE (Teflon) is known for a very wide continuous service temperature range and non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics.
