270 PTFE SOLID BACKUP RING FDA

APG stocks the TST270SO, an AS568-270 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 8.984 in (228.19 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 9.262 in (235.25 mm). A back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

It resists nearly all industrial chemicals, oxidizing media, and solvents. PTFE (Teflon) is specified for near-universal chemical inertness and excellent dielectric properties. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Verify compatibility before use with service requiring elastic recovery or molten alkali metals.
