This back-up ring is supplied in AS568-334 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D supplied with an inside diameter of 2.6 in (66.04 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.02 in (76.71 mm), catalogued under part number TST334. It allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

PTFE (Teflon) is known for near-universal chemical inertness and one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid. The material holds up against solvents, strong acids and bases, and steam. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C). It is not the right choice where service requiring elastic recovery or elemental fluorine at temperature are present.
