354 PTFE SOLID BACKUP RING FDA

The TST354SO is an AS568-354 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 5.1 in (129.54 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.52 in (140.21 mm). This back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified here for one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid and near-universal chemical inertness. Expect good resistance to strong acids and bases, oxidizing media, and steam. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C). Verify compatibility before use with elemental fluorine at temperature or service requiring elastic recovery.
