The TST436 is an AS568-436 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring with an inside diameter of 5.85 in (148.59 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.4 in (162.56 mm). This back-up ring bridges the extrusion gap so the primary seal holds its shape under load.

PTFE (Teflon) delivers non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics and a very wide continuous service temperature range. This material stands up to nearly all industrial chemicals, steam, and oxidizing media. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 500°F (260°C).

It sees regular use in laboratory equipment, food and beverage, and semiconductor fabrication.
