443 PTFE SOLID BACKUP RING FDA

TST443SO is an AS568-443 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 7.475 in (189.87 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 8.025 in (203.84 mm). In service, this back-up ring extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

PTFE (Teflon) is specified here for very wide continuous service temperature range and excellent dielectric properties. The compound resists solvents, strong acids and bases, and steam. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). Verify compatibility before use with molten alkali metals or elemental fluorine at temperature.
