TST451 is an AS568-451 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 10.975 in (278.77 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 11.525 in (292.74 mm). In service, this back-up ring bridges the extrusion gap so the primary seal holds its shape under load.

Expect good resistance to solvents, steam, and strong acids and bases. That behavior comes from the compound itself: PTFE (Teflon) delivers one of the lowest coefficients of friction of any solid and a very wide continuous service temperature range. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C). It is not the right choice where elemental fluorine at temperature or service requiring elastic recovery are present.

It sees regular use in chemical processing, food and beverage, and semiconductor fabrication.
