452 PTFE SOLID BACKUP RING FDA

TST452SO is an AS568-452 white PTFE (Teflon) 55 Shore D Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 11.475 in (291.47 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 12.025 in (305.44 mm). In service, this back-up ring installs on the low-pressure side of an o-ring to prevent extrusion into the clearance gap at elevated pressure.

PTFE (Teflon) offers excellent dielectric properties and non-stick, non-contaminating surface characteristics. It resists nearly all industrial chemicals, strong acids and bases, and steam. Rated temperature range runs from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 500°F (260°C) in continuous service. Exposure to service requiring elastic recovery or molten alkali metals will shorten service life.

Typical settings include aggressive-media pipelines, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical and biotech.
