The 3U40DCSS is an U-Tite Stainless Steel Dust Cap Cam and Groove Coupling with a 4 inch nominal size. This cam and groove coupling closes off a female coupler to keep debris and moisture out of an idle line. Supplementary detail from the product record: Dust Cap.

Stainless Steel is specified here for high mechanical strength and pressure capability, long service life in demanding outdoor environments. The material holds up against salt water and washdown, high pressure, and corrosion and oxidation. It is not the right choice where chloride stress cracking in some grades or galvanic pairing with dissimilar metals are present.
