8-024 BLACK FKM 90D BACK-UP RING

This back-up ring is supplied in AS568-024 black Viton® (FKM) 90 Shore A built to an inside diameter of 1.114 in (28.3 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.254 in (31.85 mm), catalogued under part number VBU90024. It extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

Expect good resistance to aggressive chemicals, petroleum oils and fuels, and many acids. Viton® (FKM) is known for excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to hot water and steam or amines will shorten service life.
