8-113 BLACK FKM 90D BACK-UP RING

Ordered as VBU90113, this is an AS568-113 black Viton® (FKM) 90 Shore A Back-Up Ring with an inside diameter of 0.549 in (13.94 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.755 in (19.18 mm). The back-up ring extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

Viton® (FKM) is specified here for industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit and very low compression set at elevated temperature. The compound resists engine and transmission fluids, petroleum oils and fuels, and chlorinated solvents. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Applications involving hot water and steam or amines call for a different compound.

Typical settings include semiconductor equipment, high-temperature process equipment, and oil and gas.
