8-217 BLACK FKM 90D BACK-UP RING

Part number VBU90217 is an AS568-217 black Viton® (FKM) 90 Shore A Back-Up Ring with an inside diameter of 1.171 in (29.74 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.449 in (36.8 mm). A back-up ring extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) offers excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, very low compression set at elevated temperature. Expect good resistance to aggressive chemicals, aromatic hydrocarbons, and petroleum oils and fuels. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to hot water and steam or ketones and esters will shorten service life.

Typical settings include automotive fuel systems, semiconductor equipment, and high-temperature process equipment.
