8-226 BLACK FKM 90D BACK-UP RING

Ordered as VBU90226, this is an AS568-226 black Viton® (FKM) 90 Shore A Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 1.984 in (50.39 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.262 in (57.45 mm). The back-up ring bridges the extrusion gap so the primary seal holds its shape under load.

It resists engine and transmission fluids, aromatic hydrocarbons, and petroleum oils and fuels. Viton® (FKM) is valued for long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments and the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to low-molecular-weight organic acids or ketones and esters will shorten service life.
