As a material, Viton® (FKM) offers excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. Expect good resistance to aggressive chemicals, aromatic hydrocarbons, and petroleum oils and fuels. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Verify compatibility before use with hot water and steam or ketones and esters. The profile itself contributes a parting line located away from the sealing surface and lower compressive load required to achieve a seal.
