APG stocks the VQ4012, an AS568-012 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A Quad-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 0.364 in (9.25 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.504 in (12.8 mm). A quad-ring resists spiral failure in reciprocating service thanks to its multi-lobe geometry.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) offers excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, outstanding high-temperature capability. This material stands up to petroleum oils and fuels, many acids, and aromatic hydrocarbons. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where low-molecular-weight organic acids or ketones and esters are present. The profile itself contributes resistance to the spiral twisting that defeats round-section rings and lower compressive load required to achieve a seal.

It sees regular use in oil and gas, aerospace, and chemical processing.

Stocked as VQ4012 and sold individually. Nominal inside diameter is listed as 3/8 inch. Application requirements vary, so validate compatibility with your process conditions prior to installation.
