Part number VQ4103 is an AS568-103 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A quad profile Quad-Ring with an inside diameter of 0.081 in (2.06 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.287 in (7.29 mm). A quad-ring provides a dual sealing band on each contact face for improved reliability.

Viton® (FKM) is specified here for very low compression set at elevated temperature, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. The compound resists aggressive chemicals, engine and transmission fluids, and aromatic hydrocarbons. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Applications involving hot water and steam or low-molecular-weight organic acids call for a different compound.
