Part number VQ4118 is an AS568-118 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A quad profile Quad-Ring with an inside diameter of 0.862 in (21.89 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.068 in (27.13 mm). A quad-ring resists spiral failure in reciprocating service thanks to its multi-lobe geometry.

The material holds up against aggressive chemicals, many acids, and aromatic hydrocarbons. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) is valued for very low compression set at elevated temperature, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to low-molecular-weight organic acids or amines will shorten service life.

It sees regular use in aerospace, chemical processing, and semiconductor equipment.
