Part number VQ4206 is an AS568-206 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A Quad-Ring with an inside diameter of 0.484 in (12.29 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 0.762 in (19.35 mm). A quad-ring uses a four-lobed profile to create two sealing surfaces per side, reducing the squeeze needed to seal.

The compound resists aggressive chemicals, chlorinated solvents, and engine and transmission fluids. Viton® (FKM) is widely chosen for outstanding high-temperature capability, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). The profile itself contributes two sealing bands per contact face rather than one and a parting line located away from the sealing surface.
