Part number VQ4217 is an AS568-217 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A quad profile Quad-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 0.171 in (4.34 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.449 in (36.8 mm). A quad-ring provides a dual sealing band on each contact face for improved reliability.

Viton® (FKM) is specified here for outstanding high-temperature capability and very low compression set at elevated temperature. This material stands up to petroleum oils and fuels, engine and transmission fluids, and chlorinated solvents. Rated temperature range runs from -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C) in continuous service.
