VQ4238 is an AS568-238 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A quad profile Quad-Ring built to an inside diameter of 3.484 in (88.49 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.762 in (95.55 mm). In service, this quad-ring resists spiral failure in reciprocating service thanks to its multi-lobe geometry.

The compound resists aggressive chemicals, chlorinated solvents, and aromatic hydrocarbons. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) is known for excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. Rated temperature range runs from -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C) in continuous service. Verify compatibility before use with hot water and steam or ketones and esters.
