4240-514AD MINNESOTA RUBBER QUAD RING

This quad-ring is supplied in AS568-240 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A quad profile measuring an inside diameter of 3.734 in (94.84 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.012 in (101.9 mm), catalogued under part number VQ4240. It uses a four-lobed profile to create two sealing surfaces per side, reducing the squeeze needed to seal.

Viton® (FKM) is specified here for excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, outstanding high-temperature capability. Expect good resistance to aggressive chemicals, many acids, and engine and transmission fluids. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where ketones and esters or hot water and steam are present.
