VQ4258 is an AS568-258 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A quad profile Quad-Ring with an inside diameter of 5.984 in (151.99 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.262 in (159.05 mm). In service, this quad-ring resists spiral failure in reciprocating service thanks to its multi-lobe geometry.

Expect good resistance to aromatic hydrocarbons, engine and transmission fluids, and petroleum oils and fuels. Viton® (FKM) is specified for excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, very low compression set at elevated temperature. Service temperature is rated from -15°F (-26.1°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). Applications involving low-molecular-weight organic acids or hot water and steam call for a different compound.
