VQ4284 is an AS568-284 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A quad profile Quad-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 17.955 in (456.06 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 18.233 in (463.12 mm). In service, this quad-ring uses a four-lobed profile to create two sealing surfaces per side, reducing the squeeze needed to seal.

Expect good resistance to aggressive chemicals, aromatic hydrocarbons, and chlorinated solvents. Viton® (FKM) is widely chosen for the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where amines or ketones and esters are present.

Typical settings include automotive fuel systems, oil and gas, and chemical processing.
