This quad-ring is supplied in AS568-349 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A quad profile built to an inside diameter of 4.475 in (113.67 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.895 in (124.33 mm), catalogued under part number VQ4349. It delivers lower friction and better sealing stability than a comparable round-section o-ring.

This material stands up to aromatic hydrocarbons, many acids, and engine and transmission fluids. Viton® (FKM) is widely chosen for long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments and the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit. Service temperature is rated from -15°F (-26.1°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). Applications involving amines or ketones and esters call for a different compound.
