VQ4430 is an AS568-430 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A quad profile Quad-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 5.1 in (129.54 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.65 in (143.51 mm). In service, this quad-ring uses a four-lobed profile to create two sealing surfaces per side, reducing the squeeze needed to seal.

It resists petroleum oils and fuels, aggressive chemicals, and engine and transmission fluids. Viton® (FKM) is widely chosen for excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, outstanding high-temperature capability. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to ketones and esters or low-molecular-weight organic acids will shorten service life.
