VQ4438 is an AS568-438 black Viton® (FKM) 75 Shore A quad profile Quad-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 6.225 in (158.12 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 6.775 in (172.09 mm). In service, this quad-ring resists spiral failure in reciprocating service thanks to its multi-lobe geometry.

It resists petroleum oils and fuels, many acids, and aromatic hydrocarbons. Viton® (FKM) delivers very low compression set at elevated temperature and outstanding high-temperature capability. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to ketones and esters or low-molecular-weight organic acids will shorten service life.

Typical settings include chemical processing, high-temperature process equipment, and aerospace.
