This square-cut cord stock is supplied in black Buna-N (Nitrile) 70 Shore A built to a cross section of 0.375 in (9.53 mm), catalogued under part number 0296375. It ships as continuous square-cut stock so a custom-length seal can be cut and spliced on site.

Buna-N (Nitrile) is specified here for most widely specified general-purpose sealing elastomer and low compression set under sustained load. The compound resists many alcohols, water, and hydraulic fluids. The profile itself contributes a rectangular section that will not roll in the groove and greater resistance to extrusion than a round section of the same size. Note that a square section is less suited to high-speed rotary service, where the larger contact area raises friction and heat.
